Dr. Sunil Bhandarkar was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He attended Bayport-Blue Point High School in Bayport, NY and Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts where he finished his pre-medical training and completed his BA degree in Biology. Dr. Bhandarkar then completed additional pre-medical coursework at the University of Pennsylvania prior to attending Tufts University School of Medicine where he received his MD degree. Dr. Bhandarkar finished an internship in Internal Medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. For his ophthalmologic surgery residency, he attended Weill Cornell Medical College/NY Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York. Dr. Bhandarkar came to Los Angeles to complete a Cornea and LASIK fellowship at the Sinskey Eye Institute in Santa Monica, California. He has practiced in the Los Angeles area since 2005 and currently lives in Santa Monica.
Dr. Bhandarkar is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is on staff at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica and Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles with the Department of Ophthalmology.
